Baluchi is spoken in parts of Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan. The name of the language may also be spelled Balochi.
Baluchi is written in a flowing script that runs from right to left, the opposite of English. Most Baluchi letters connect to the letters preceding and following them, just as in English cursive writing. Therefore, letters often change shape depending on their placement within a word. Baluchi is usually written using only consonants and long vowels, although there are small marks which can be used above or below letters to indicate short vowels.
Some content may show the native Baluchi script along with the transliterations of the Baluchi words and phrases. Others may have just native characters or just transliterations. If you are using content which only shows native Baluchi script, or shows the native script before the transliterations, you will need to type the Baluchi characters. Follow the instructions below to do so.
