Things to know about Balinese

Balinese is spoken primarily on the island of Bali in Indonesia.

Typing Balinese Characters

Balinese is traditionally written using a syllabic alphabet, but few modern speakers are familiar with this writing system. When the language is written today, it is often transliterated using a variation of the Latin alphabet. The Balinese content in this program is presented using this transliterated alphabet.

The simplest method to type the special character é that may appear in the transliterated Balinese content is to use this program's input method. To do so, type the base character, e, then select the special character from the set of characters which appears.

See Typing Accents and Special Characters for details.
